This project is a storm outfall restoration project. The area was identified within the 2020 City Wide Creek Assessment Study as a Priority Rank 21 to the West Aldershot Creek Outfall Work, with Erosion Hazard Score of 79/100. The City-Wide Creek Assessment Study recommended solution was to construct a grouted armourstone cascade from the concrete apron down to the existing channel elevation, with stabilized plunge pool, consistent with the West Aldershot Creek Erosion Control EA preferred alternative (December 2021). The West Aldershot Creek Erosion Control EA study (October 2019) determined that the structural integrity of the existing storm outfall was deemed to be adequate and does not require replacement. Additional review of structural risk assessment completed by Associated Engineering (December 2021) identified that the structure appears to be generally stable under dead load, however continued exposure to storm discharge will worsen erosion scour underneath the storm outfall, which does pose a risk to structural failure if left exposed. Contractor's mandatory experience shall include similar creek works / slope stabilization / erosion control works / in existing urban settings with a value of not less than $500,000. Bidder failing to meet the required mandatory experience will be deemed Non-Compliant.
