The Trail Memorial Centre is located at 1051 Victoria St. in Trail, BC. The facility is replacing the refrigeration plants evaporative condenser, as it is currently at the end of its serviceable life. The existing BAC VC1 Series condenser will be replaced with a BAC CXVB Series evaporative condenser. This new condenser is to be mounted on the existing concrete structure which supports the facilitys current condenser. Because the new condenser has slightly different dimensions than the existing condenser, the installing contractor will be responsible for making any seismic and/or structural upgrades required to ensure that the existing condenser stand is capable of supporting the new equipment. As part of these upgrades, a new condenser sump pump will also be installed. This includes the installation of new condenser water supply and drain piping, as well as the integration of this piping with the facility's existing remote sump tank. In addition, the facilitys existing compressor cooling glycol circuit will be reintegrated into the new condenser. Throughout the install, the installing contractor is to reuse as much of the existing piping infrastructure as possible. However, the ammonia discharge, pressure equalization, and condensate drain lines have begun to show signs of corrosion. As part of this project, the contractor will be responsible for stripping, repainting, refinishing, and relabeling this piping per IIAR recommendations. Please note that the compressor cooling glycol piping and pressure relief discharge piping do not need to be modified as part of this project, as these lines were installed more recently.
