Renovation of a medical facility in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

The University's primary objective in utilizing the Progressive Design-Build approach for the project is to bring the best available integrated design expertise and construction experience to this Project. The University and DesignBuilder have determined that Proposers who submit proposals on this bid package must be prequalified and are subject to the prequalification and Request for Proposal process. Prequalified Proposers will be required to have the following California contractor's license(s): C-35: Lathing & Plastering or C-2: Insulation & Acoustical This prequalification is for Phase 3 Construction. The successful Proposer will enter into a subcontract with the Design-Builder for the project for Phase 3 construction services. General Description of the Project The 48X Complex will address a shortage of operating room capacity at UC Davis Health's main campus. The facility baseline program of 265,000 (gsf) includes clinics, space of California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) Level-3 space, to support a preliminary program of approximately 14 operating rooms, 2 Procedure Rooms, pre-and post-operative recovery bays, single occupant overnight patient recovery rooms, public space, clinical support operations space (sterilization, pharmacy, etc.), imaging space, and physical therapy space as well as administrative support space to facilitate patient support and education. In addition, the project includes medical office space (clinic) as a component of the 48X Complex project. Work in this bid package includes applied fireproofing and spray applied thermal insulation. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. All work included in this bid package will be performed under the authority and jurisdiction of HCAI Level 3. The 48X Complex project has an overall Target Direct Work Cost of $408M. Of that overall Target Cost, the total for this bid package scope is: Applied Fireproofing & Spray Applied Insulation: $1,200,000 Target Cost for this bid package shall include all costs for the Phase 3 construction services, management costs (general conditions), and escalation. The exact dates, times, and location will be set forth in an "Announcement to Prequalified Proposers". The University or Design-Builder reserves the right to reject any or all responses to the Prequalification Questionnaire and any or all proposals and to waive non-material irregularities in any response received. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Proposer may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Proposers and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Request for Proposal Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Proposal for, or engage in the performance of any portion of this Project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Prequalified Proposer shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements UC Davis Health has determined that a PLA will be required on the project. Compliance and participation under the PLA agreement will be a contract requirement for all subcontractors and will be available with the Level 2 - RFP/Bid documents. All information submitted for prequalification evaluation will be considered official information acquired in confidence, and the University will maintain its confidentiality to the extent permitted by law.
