Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Buffalo, New York. Design plans call for the addition of a 17,600-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a 109,100-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
As of February 19, 2024, an architect has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The State University Construction Fund is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide design and construction services for the design of an addition and renovations to Clark Hall on the University at Buffalo's South Campus. An approximately 17,600 SF two-story addition to the north side of Clark Hall will provide ADA access, first floor lobby space and second floor recreation courts. Complete renovations to the three story, 109,100 GSF existing building will modify interior configuration for accessibility and more efficient circulation. Renovated program spaces will include gyms, the swimming pool, locker rooms, weight rooms, group fitness facilities as well as spaces for health promotion, counseling, and other wellness programs. Renovations will refurbish the building envelope, abate hazardous materials and replace all building mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems and interior amenities. This project will add full fire sprinkler protection and air conditioning. This project will be constructed to Deep Energy Retrofit standards and SUCF Directive 1B-2. The Consultant will evaluate use of existing campus hot water and steam utilities versus construction of a ground source heat pump system. A service-oriented, budget-conscious Consultant team is sought to maximize value, minimize total cost of ownership, and expedite delivery of an attractive, functional, maintainable, and versatile facility. A short-form concept program study for this new building was conducted recently by the University at Buffalo and will be made available to the selected Consultant. The construction value is approximately $76,100,000.
