Notice is hereby given that the governing board ("Board") of the Yosemite Community College District ("District") will receive sealed bids for the following project: MJC East Campus Electronics Building Flooring Abatement The project consists of the abatement of asbestos-containing floor materials from multiple areas of the Electronics Building. In addition, limited abatement of asbestos-containing drywall from an office and selective demolition of a non-asbestos drywall wall and chalkboard systems will be performed by the awarded contractor. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess at a minimum the State of California Contractor License Class B with asbestos certification and/or C-22 contractor's license and Registered with the Division of Occupational Safety and Health as an Asbestos Abatement Contractor to Bid this contract. The Bidder's license(s) and registration must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract A bid bond by an admitted California surety insurer on the form provided by the District in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, shall accompany the Bid Form and Proposal, as a guarantee that the Bidder will, within seven (7) days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Work. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. This Project is subject to labor compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1771.4 and subject to the requirements of Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations. The Contractor and all Subcontractors under the Contractor shall furnish electronic certified payroll records directly to the Labor Commissioner weekly or within (10) days of any request by the District or the Labor Commissioner. The successful bidder shall comply with all requirements of Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1, of the Labor Code. Pursuant to SB 854, no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and no contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for a public works project (awarded on or before April 1, 2015) unless registered with the DIR per California Labor Code section 1725.5 All participants are required to sign in. All participants shall meet at Modesto Junior College East Campus, Parking Lot 108 (adjacent to the Electronics Building, at northeast corner of Stoddard Avenue and Tully Road). The prebid conference is expected to take approximately one hour. This conference is strongly recommended for all bidders but is not mandatory.
