North Carolina State University is seeking qualification statements from electrical contractors for improvements to Witherspoon Student Center Fire Alarm System Replacement, located on Main Campus. The project scope includes the replacement of the existing fire alarm system with a new addressable fire alarm and voice evacuation system for this three-story, 43,902 sf building, originally constructed in 1991. The existing fire alarm system will remain in service until the new system is installed, tested, and accepted, and it will then be removed. NC State University has an affirmative policy of fostering, promoting, and conducting business with women and minority-owned enterprises. Women and minority contractors are encouraged to participate in the prequalification process. : (An in-depth narrative of the details of the project and any unique features, including but not limited to tight site, overtime/nights/weekend work, specialty trades, LEED certification, research lab, medical space, museum space, occupied renovation, residence hall, special equipment, etc.)
