Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Jacksonville, Florida. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

This project includes construction of a new wastewater pump station adjacent to the existing station to provide increased flow capacity and reliability in accordance with the attached plans and specifications. The new station will replace the existing one. The construction shall neither result in a disruption of, nor interfere with, the functional workings of any existing utilities. All questions must be submitted in writing to the JEA Buyer listed below at least five (5) business days prior to the opening date. Questions received within five (5) business days prior to the opening date will not be answered. Questions: Buyer: Dan Kruck JEA Index No. 180-53 City Development No. 4161.336 JEA Availability No. 2021-0917 Substantial Completion and Final Completion are 300 and 360 days, DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, incidentals and taxes necessary to construct a JEA Standard Class II Duplex Submersible Pump Station to replace the existing submersible pump station that is located just south of the proposed location and all associated demolition, utility relocations, bypass pumping, paving work, and associated improvements. All work will occur in either existing utility easements and/or JEA parcel(s). The Contractor will be required to maintain local traffic during construction of the improvements and coordinate with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), local residents, and local businesses relative to construction scheduling, lane (or roadway) closures, temporary roadway requirements, etc. As discussed further herein, the Contractor shall coordinate with these entities to develop a sequencing plan to construct portions of the project in different phases. The Contractor's scope of work also includes identifying, locating, and protecting all existing utilities. LOCATION OF WORK: The project site is located in Jacksonville, Florida near the intersection of Baymeadows Road and Baymeadows Way The general intent is as follows: 1. Phase I: Construct the proposed Class II pump station, limited gravity sewer extensions adjacent to the pump station, and associated force main. The relocated pump station shall be tested and authorized for use prior to completing any gravity sewer connections that will re-route flow. The Contractor shall sequence the timing of the testing and ensure the force main work is coordinated with the existing pump station as defined in Phase III. 2. Phase II: Construct the water main relocation work prior to the proposed gravity sewer modifications within the Baymeadows Way right of way. An existing asbestos cement (AC) water main crosses the proposed sewer improvements that shall be taken out of service prior to the collection system improvements. The Contractor shall abide by all AC pipeline management requirements listed within the JEA Standards. 3. Phase III: Construct the sewer collection system modifications with associated testing and approval by JEA. This may or may not require sequenced scheduling of bypass pumping activities. All sequencing of bypass systems and associated sequencing of construction activities is the complete responsibility of the Contractor. The bypass pumping system shall be installed and tested prior to scheduling the various tieins, and/or other work requiring bypass activities. The Contractor shall identify their work sequence and coordinate all work with JEA personnel. Once the bypass system has been installed, tested, and approved for service, the Contractor may schedule the various tie-ins to the existing collection system and/or other work with JEA personnel. 4. Provide all traffic control measures to manage the various phases of work. 5. Coordinate with JEA personnel to determine if various portions of the existing infrastructure can be isolated for direct connections. If cut-in operations are not feasible, the Contractor shall complete the tapping sleeve and valve, line stop, and/or insert-a-valve connections as shown on the Drawings. 6. Once the relocated pump station is in operation and all connections to existing infrastructure is complete, the Contractor shall demolish the existing pump station in accordance with the Drawings and JEA Standards. 7. Complete the above process in a sequential and orderly manner to limit disruption to the existing neighborhood. 8. Make final restoration to all disturbed areas and complete punchlist.
