Fencing was recently erected outside Tecumseth Beeton Elementary School at 43 Patterson St., in Beeton as part of a renovation project that was announced earlier this year to bring new child-care spaces to the facility. • According to a spokesperson for the Simcoe County District School Board, the fencing was put up by the contractor awarded the contract, Rutherford Contracting Ltd., in order to store materials on the site during the construction project. • In early February, the province announced it was providing $1.1 million to the school board to renovate space inside the school to create two new child-care rooms. The province said the funding is part of its overall commitment to provide $14 billion to support school construction, repair and renewal over 10 years. • The new rooms will provide 39 child-care spaces. • The school board was unable to confirm when the renovation is supposed to be completed. • Tecumseth Beeton was originally constructed 55 years ago in 1968, and it accommodates students from junior kindergarten to Grade 8. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prequalified General Contractors only.
