Site work, paving, outdoor lighting, new construction, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Saline, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a 26,000-square-foot educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Saline Area Schools is requesting proposals for Design Services associated with a Bond Issue that includes various work within the District. This RFP is for design services in Series 1 only. Design services are not required for Technology, Buses, FF&E and other miscellaneous items included as part of Series 1. The net project costs in Series 1 that will require design services is estimated to be base bid $23 million and Alternate # 1 Operations Center $13M (not including the cost of related design and CM services). Series 1- Base Bid Projects Include Saline High School STEAM CENTER A. Saline High School STEAM Center & Weight Room Addition $13M, 26,000 Sqft Structure to include the following: a. STEAM Lab b. STEAM Competition Field c. Weight Room d. Add additional AC to existing gymnasiums, locker rooms and interior athletic areas within the high school. Timeline: Students, Staff & Community Design Committee to start meeting in the spring of 2023. Construction Start- June 2024, Completion- August 2025 B. Saline Middle School Junior Stadium & Tennis Facility Relocation $7.2 a. Track b. Artificial Turf Field c. Eight (8) Tennis Courts d. Grandstands, lighting, fencing, sitework and utilities. e. Parking Lots & Drives Timeline: Students, Staff & Community Design Committee to start meeting Spring of 2023. Construction Start- Spring 2025, Completion- August 2026 C. Playground Enhancements at four elementary buildings. $2.8M budget, to include new accessible inclusive equipment and surfacing for wheelchair access. a. Pleasant Ridge Elementary b. Harvest Elementary c. Woodland Meadows Elementary d. Heritage Elementary Timeline: Students, Staff & Community Design Committee to start meeting Winter/Spring 2023. Construction Start- June 2024, Completion- August 2024 Proposals for design services for Series 2 and 3 projects will be requested at a later date. The proposals submitted will be used by the Committee to assist in making the decision regarding the selection of the design team for this project. It will be helpful if potential firms submit their information in a form that provides for an accurate comparison of all of the proposals submitted. It is presumed that most companies are familiar with submittals of this nature. It is desired that all uncertainties be resolved prior to the submission of the proposal. All firms must submit four (4) copies of their proposal in 8 1/2 x 11 format and one (1) electronic copy shall be emailed to owsleym@salineschools.org In addition to asking for technical qualifications, we are also requesting a fee proposal in this RFP. 12/5/22 - District Review of RFPs 12/5/22 - Notify firms short listed 12/7/22 - Interview Date (Time T.B.D.) 12/13/2022 - Selected firm notified and request Board of Education approval to negotiate contract The list of general requirements is enclosed. Your response to this request will enable the District to assess both the experience and expertise that your organization has in the area of K-12 design, Athletic Facility Design and Commercial structures. Saline Area Schools is requesting a written proposal. Companies are encouraged to thoroughly detail the services they propose to provide so that a fair comparison can be made between companies. Attention should be given to documenting the items indicated in the Request for Proposal. A significant part of the initial screening of all proposals submitted will be based on the completeness and responsiveness of the written proposal that you submit. Saline Area Schools feels strongly that all potential vendors are to be provided fair treatment. To this end, all RFP questions should be directed to Rex Clary, Executive Director of Operations (claryr@salineschools.org). All questions and answers will be posted on the District website and will be e-mailed directly upon request. All other employees and staff have been notified that contact with bidders is to be kept to an absolute minimum during the proposal process. Any inappropriate or unauthorized contact with any employee or Committee member associated with the Project will be noted and disclosed and may result in the disqualification of your proposal. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to waive any RFP response inconsistencies. The District may accept or reject any proposal or part of any proposal that it does not feel is in the best interest of the District. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
