609517-120791 The proposed project is to provide and enhance safe routes to school for the Blueberry Hill Elementary School in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. The proposed project includes the improvement of pedestrian and bicycle facilities on Bliss Road and Blueberry Hill Road. The proposed improvements on Bliss Road will include construction of a 6-foot sidewalk between Grassy Gutter Road and Blueberry Hill Road, reconstruction of curb ramps for ADA compliance, new crosswalks, new signage, and small areas of mill and overlay at existing crosswalk locations and installation of new crosswalk striping as well as the installation of a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) signal system at the east side of the intersection with Blueberry Hill Road. The proposed improvements on Blueberry Hill Road will include the construction of a 6-footwide green pigmented concrete sidewalk with a detectable warning panel adjacent to the existing 6-foot sidewalk on the east side of the roadway as well as reconstruction of curb ramps for ADA compliance, new crosswalks, new signage, and small areas of mill and overlay at existing crosswalk locations and installation of new crosswalk striping. Prospective bidders are required to submit all questions to the Construction Contracts Engineer by 3:00 P.M. on the Tuesday of the previous week before the scheduled bid opening date.
