Project Scope of Work An assessment was completed to make improvements to the Administration Office building of the Spartanburg Water System downtown campus. a. Project location: Administration Office Building 200 Commerce St., Spartanburg, SC 29306 b. Project goals include but are not limited to: i. Better utilize vacant office space ii. Reconfiguration of office space iii. Improve employee safety b. The project includes the interior renovations to specific areas of the Administration Office Building per the project plans in Exhibit D. The scope will include, but is not limited to: i. Addition of an office and work area in former Billing Area ii. Reconfiguration of New Connections area iii. Installation of bullet proof glass in Cashiering, Customer Service, and Reception areas iv. Reconfiguration of Executive suite c. Other Contractor notes: i. Contractors should allow 6 weeks in their submitted project schedule as part of their response for plan permitting. ii. Construction laydown will be located in the employee parking lot and loading area on the west side of the building. Bid Security and Bonds: If bid price is equal to or exceeds $50,000, a bid bond or certified check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount bid must accompany each proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds: If bid price is equal to or exceeds $50,000 the awarded Contractor shall furnish two Surety Bonds each in an amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price. The Performance Bond as security for the faithful performance of this contract during the contract period and during the warranty period (one year) and a payment bond for payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing materials in connection with this Contract. The surety on each Bond shall be a surety company satisfactory to the Owner, duly authorized to do business in the state of South Carolina. An agent who is a resident of the State, County or City of the owner, if required shall countersign the bonds. The person executing the bond on behalf of the surety shall file with the Bond a general power of attorney unlimited as to amount and type Bond covered by such power of attorney, and be certified as an official of said surety. Please be advised that the Owner considers responses to this RFP by competing firms as purely voluntary, and the Owner is under no financial obligation to said firms regarding the contents of their response, or in the preparation of the same. All responding suppliers should understand that all or any portion of this project is subject to approval of the Commission of the Owner.
