Supply up to 2500 tons of Pebble Lime (Calcium Oxide) annually to Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA) as required. The quantity is a good faith estimate based on previous and /or anticipated usage. FPUA reserves the right to purchase more or less than that quantity to conform to the actual need. SPECIFICATIONS A. The Pebble Lime (Calcium Oxide) delivered under this specification shall be certified as being in conformance with National Sanitation Foundation/ American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) Standard 60, approved for use in potable water treatment. B. The Pebble Lime (Calcium Oxide) delivered under this specification shall conform to the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standard B202-13, or the most current standard, except as otherwise noted in this specification. C. The chemical and physical properties of the Pebble Lime (Calcium Oxide) delivered under this specification shall conform to the following: Available Calcium Oxide content of no less than 90% 3/8" to 3/4" in size, screened so that none shall be retained on a 3/4 inch sieve and not more than ten (10) percent shall pass a 1/4 inch sieve No more than 3% insoluble material Ability to achieve 40Celsius temperature rise (high reactivity) in three (3) minutes in a slaking rate test conducted in accordance with AWWA Standard B202-13, or the most current standard.
