Construction of the Preisker Park Trail Project, FORMAL BID NO. 2023/01, consists of grading, landscaping, and hardscape and all work required to fulfill the intent of the Plans and Specifications for the project and necessary to render the facility complete and operational. Upon receipt of your payment, the documents will be sent to you using an overnight delivery service. Until further notice, copies of drawings, specifications, and other bidding documents are not available for review at the offices of the City Engineer. Requests for information or clarification must be submitted IN WRITING and received in the Department of Public Works no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 12/16/2022. Requests may be submitted via e-mail to: tkorman@cityofsantamaria.org. The Design Engineer has calculated an estimate of probable construction costs for this project. The City does not wish to publicize the engineers estimate of the project cost since this information may tend to influence the number and nature of bids received. However, for the bidder's convenience, the City will publicize that the engineers estimate for the base bid falls within a range of $200,000 and $250,000. Bids shall be executed on the forms provided in the book of bidding documents and in accordance with the instructions contained therein. A separate, unbound, set of bid forms are provided for the bidders convenience. Bid security, in an amount not less than 10 percent (10%) of the total bid dollar amount, is required to be submitted with each bid. The bid security shall be in the form of a bidder's bond or a certified or cashiers check drawn upon a responsible bank made payable to the City of Santa Maria, and conditioned to be forfeited to said City in the event that the bidder, if the bid is accepted, does not enter into a written contract within ten (10) days after the awarding of the contract. The bidder to whom award is made will be required to furnish a payment bond and a faithful performance bond. As required under Contractor's License in the Instructions to Bidders of the bidding documents, bidders shall be licensed as a Class A or C-27 The City of Santa Maria reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all minor irregularities. The City is a charter city and any contracts into which the City enters may be subject to the provisions of its charter, which may supersede certain provisions of the public contract code and other provisions of state law. The design of this project was completed by the owners in-house design professional. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
