The City of Shawnee, Oklahoma seeks proposals from qualified consultants to conduct a thorough review and evaluation of present policies and practices of the Shawnee Fire Department. Respondents should have experience working with national fire protection standards, as well as fire department operations, policies, and customary procedures within municipalities of a size similar or larger than the City of Shawnee. The selected firm will analyze and assess all information derived through this process and make recommendations for identified gaps between current practices and best practices for each of the above items. The final findings will be prepared and presented to the City Commission and should include practical steps of implementation for any recommended changes. The selected firm is expected to work closely with the City Manager's Office in fine tuning the final scope of services and expected outcomes. The operational review process should involve active engagement with the City Manager's Office and the Shawnee Fire Department to ensure that the final plan is the proper fit for the community and can be reasonable implemented over a multi-year period.
