This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Kennard, Indiana. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

For the exclusive right to collect and dispose of refuse from all one (1) or two (2) dwelling residential structures ("Residential Unit") located within the Town. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The bid must set forth a per month per Residential Unit charge that the bidder proposes to receive for the collecting and disposing of refuse from all Residential Units within the Town as well as the performance of other obligations under the Agreement for Collection of Refuse that the successful contractor will be required to execute, which include, but are not limited to, curbside collection of solid waste from each Residential Unit on a weekly basis during one day of the week, providing each Residential Unit with one (1) ninety-six (96) gallon receptacle for the disposal of refuse, and picking up curbside one item of large refuse (an item that cannot fit into a toter) per year from each Residential Unit. The bidder must include in its bid: (a) A statement that it intends to be bound by all laws and regulations of the United States, the State of Indiana and the Town, including without limitation, any restriction applicable to the operation of vehicles located within the Town; (b) A description of the specific receptacles, including the brand and one or more photographs, for the collection of refuse that will be provided to each Residential Unit; (c) The bidder's plan for performance of the collection and disposal of refuse, including a description of the dates and times upon which refuse will be collected (provided that such times must comply with the provisions of the Agreement for Collection of Refuse); (d) A financial statement, statement of experience, a non-collusion affidavit and a listing of the equipment that will be available for the collection of refuse. The statements and listings shall be submitted on forms as prescribed by the Indiana State Board of Accounts; (e) A listing of all municipalities in Indiana with which the bidder has been awarded an exclusive contract for the collection of refuse within the last ten (10) years, if any, including the duration of the contract and the name(s) of a contact person at the municipality that is familiar with Contractor's performance; and (f) A description of any limitations on the types and quantities of wastes that will be collected. The bidder shall maintain one or more policies of comprehensive general liability and automobile liability insurance with combined limits of liability of no less than five million dollars ($5,000,000.00) per occurrence. The successful bidder will be required to enter into the Agreement for Collection of Refuse that will provide for an amount per month to be paid by each customer for the collection of refuse from Residential Units, for indemnification of Town from and against all claims arising out of, or related to, the awarding of the contract or the performance of work and services under the contract, for the ability of Town to terminate the contract as a result of violations by contractor of Town's ordinances or the unsafe operation of any vehicle in connection with the performance of the agreement, and for the termination of the agreement in the event sufficient funds are not appropriated or collected for the performance of the agreement. The Agreement for Collection of Refuse will not be negotiable. Bids will remain open and capable of acceptance by Town for a period of up to sixty (60) days after the date of opening. Town reserves the right to waive informalities, minor errors and omissions in any bid received and to request clarification from one or more bidders. Town may, in its discretion, may reject all bids submitted.
