Site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Montgomery, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for the addition of a educational facility.

https://www.mrt.com/neighborhood/moco/news/article/Montgomery-ISD-names-new-43M-Creekside-Elementary-17669322.php The Montgomery Independent School District has named its new $43.4 million elementary school that was part of a $326 million bond package voters approved in May. Creekside Elementary School, on FM 2854 behind Lake Creek High School, is expected to open for the 2024-25 school year to help relieve overcrowding at Keenan Elementary and Stewart Creek Elementary. Construction for the elementary school, designed for a maximum enrollment of 900 students, is expected to begin in May 2023. The board approved the purchase of 20 acres behind Lake Creek High School in May for the new campus. Funds for the campus were included in the $313 million bond portion and also include the second phase of an addition to Lake Creek High School as well as a new career and technical education center. The campus mascot will be the Cubs and the school colors will be blue and gold -- to match with the neighboring high school's colors and its lion mascot. On YourCourierNews.com: Heritage Museum of Montgomery County lauded for its preservation efforts "Choosing Creekside Elementary School as the name and selecting the cub mascot with blue and gold color scheme is the perfect acknowledgement to the building's proximity to Lake Creek High School," said Board Secretary Linda Porten in a release. "The branding package recognizes the school's place in the (high school's) feeder pattern while also conveying a unique identity for the new campus. I know the school's inaugural students and staff members will be excited to be Creekside Cubs." In September, a naming committee issued a district-wide survey to collect suggestions, receiving more than 600 from parents, students and staff members. After the approval from the board of trustees, Board President Matt Fuller acknowledged the work that was put into naming the elementary school. "As community members, I would hope that you understand and recognize the hard work that's gone into the committee collecting information, the administration, the parents and everyone offering input," Fuller said during the board's meeting on Tuesday. "This feels like a community decision to me." The elementary school, along with the expansion of Lake Creek High School, are the first projects out of several included in the district's 2022 bond package to begin in 2023. "We're focusing on those first because of the growth that's occurring in the district," said Kris Lynn, assistant superintendent of finance and operations for the district in a previous report. "We need to get those projects started so that we can provide that additional capacity for the district." The expansion of Lake Creek High School will accommodate 900 new students for a total of 2,500 students. In addition to naming the new elementary school, the board also approved more than $1 million for the expansion of the high school's parking lot. Additional renovation plans discussed during the board meeting include Montgomery Junior High and several of the elementary schools in the Montgomery High School feeder zone, which are ready to start the bid process as construction is expected to begin in June. The new agriculture center and a career and technical education center have had a significant portion of their design work done, Lynn said. "While you can't visually see, we have been busy," he said. "And we are very proud of the amount that we've accomplished since the bond was passed in May." ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Plans call for renovations/additions at the existing high school. This early release package #2 is for the following: Earthwork, soil stabilization, site demolition, concrete paving, pavement markings, joint sealants and storm drain improvements. Direct all inquiries to the construction manager. Do not contact the owner or design team. Estimate = total construction cost.
