Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Griffith, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; playground / park / athletic field; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The goals and timetables for minority and female participation are 20.9% and 6.9% per year, respectively. This work will include sidewalk and driveway installation, pavement removal, sidewalk removal, curb & gutter, excavation for sidewalk, tree removal, restoration, bathroom and pad installation, and all other appurtenance required to complete the bathroom improvements in Central Park. Plans, Specifications and Plan Documents are available for examination in the office of the Clerk Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid fonns contained in the Contract Documents obtainable from the office of Butler, Fairman & Seufert as stated above. No bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of sixty (60) days following the date set for receiving bids. The Town Council reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than sixty (60) days and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Town Council further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the Council of Griffith or to reject all bids, Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Town of Griffith or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required, Standard Questionnaire Form 96 (revised 1987) which includes non-collusion affidavit. The Bidders attention is called to the fact that a ""Notice to Requirement for Affirmative Action to Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity (Executive Order 11246), is contained in the Bid Documents. This notice sets forth, in part, goals and timetables for the employment of women and minorities in the project area. The goals and timetables for minority and female participation are 20.9% and 6.9% per year, respectively. Contractors and Sub-Contractors are required to pay not less than the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rate established by the U,S. Department of Labor and included in the Project Specifications. Information explaining other prevailing wage laws, which apply to this work, is also included in the Project Specifications. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin. This project is being funded in part by the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Lake County Community Economic Development Department.
