Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a residential development in Martinsville, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; for site work for a residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a residential development.
The City of Martinsville is requesting proposals to: furnish all necessary services (labor, material, travel), tools, equipment and supervision to demolish the remaining structures located at 403 Clearview Dr, 210 Holt St, 210 Park, and 127 N Beaver St. These structures have all been surveyed and found negative for asbestos. This will be the responsibility of successful vendor. This is to include any grade work necessary to establish grass/vegetation growth, erosion/sediment control to fill the site and leave it in a manner that does not pond water or create uncontrolled run off. It is the responsibility of the offeror to ensure that their proposal reach the appropriate office prior to the close time on the bid. Response received after the date and closing will be considered non-responsive and will not be opened. Bids will not be accepted via fax machine or internet email. Permits: permits, proof of proper license, insurance, and certifications are required and are the responsibility of the contractor, there will be no fee associated with City's demolition permit. Payment to subcontractors shall be the responsibility of the demolition contractor. Contingency: Bidder acknowledges that any contract issued under this RFO is contingent upon the owner of the subject property failing to undertake proper remediation of the property, up to an including the start date of any contract issued under this RFPO, and that if the Owner initiates remediation by such start date, any contract issued hereunder will be void. In such event, the City specifically disclaims, any contractual liability whatsoever, including damages for detrimental reliance. By submitting its bid hereunder, Bidder expressly acknowledges, accepts and agrees to the City's immunity from liability The City of Martinsville, Virginia, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to purchase all or any part of the whole of items bid upon, to waive any and all informalities therein, and the award shall, if made, be made to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, taking into consideration available equipment and personnel, experience with such projects, and ability to complete the project within the required timeframe.
