Demolition, site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Olathe, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Olathe, Kansas, Engineering Division is requesting design firms to submit qualifications for the preparation of design documents and minimal construction oversight for the following projects: Lift Station Replacement Project 1-C-020-15, shall include two lift stations for the year 2023 and 2024. These two lift stations are the Valley Road and North Parker lift stations. The Valley Road Lift Station is located on S Valley Road near the southwest corner of the Lone Elm Industrial Park (Exhibit A). This station is a vacuumprimed wet-well mounted suction-lift station originally installed in 1985 and relocated in 1998. The discharge force main from this station is 8-inch PVC. The station receives commercial and industrial flows. Flows to this station are expected to increase in the future with additional commercial/industrial development in the immediate area. To accommodate these additional flows, pumping improvements are necessary along with piping and electrical upgrades to conform to the City's current design standards. As part of the City's design standards, the lift station pumps will be transitioned from suction-lift style to submersibles. The North Parker Lift Station is located on N Parker Street south of Harold St immediately east of K-7 Highway (Exhibit B). This station is a vacuum-primed wet-well mounted suction-lift station. The station was constructed in 1988 and is rated for 897 gpm @ 38-ft TDH. The station receives primarily domestic flows in addition to flows from one restaurant and a few businesses. The discharge forcemain from this station is 10-inch DIP. Flows to this station are expected to increase in the future with additional residential/commercial development in the immediate area. Similar to the Valley Road Lift Station, improvements to this lift station will include transition to submersible style pumps, piping and electrical upgrades to conform to the City's current design standards. This project will include review of existing hydraulic conditions, utility coordination, preparation of cost estimates, and the development of construction plans and specifications for the upgrades of these lift stations. Additional services may include assistance with bidding of projects for construction, minor assistance with the review of submittals, and assistance on an as-needed basis throughout construction.
