Bladen County Central Operations is accepting sealed bids for the replacement of exterior windows in the Bladen County Public Library. All proposals must be made by a properly licensed general contractor in the state of North Carolina. All questions regarding contract documents, bidding requirements and scope of work need to be emailed to kmclary@bladenco.org no later than 3:00 PM, December 9, 2022. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a 5% Bid Bond which conforms to the provisions of G.S.143-129 as amended by Chapter 1104 of the Public laws of 1951. In lieu of a bid bond, a bidder may substitute a cashier's check, or certified check drawn on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Checks shall be payable to the County of Bladen. The successful bidder shall be required to submit a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials for the construction of the project. The general contractor must be properly insured. The County of Bladen reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals. Bid acceptance will include: the review of bids, recommendation to the Board of Commissioners and action by the Board of Commissioners for Award of Contract. The County of Bladen reserves the right to hold bids in its possession for 60 days while these actions are taken. Bidders are expressly prohibited from contacting any County of Bladen employee associated with this Request for Proposals, except as noted above. Violation of this provision is grounds for the immediate disqualification of the bidder.
