Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sulphur, Louisiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, and must be in the form of an electronic bid bond as described in LSAR.S. 38:2212 E.(1) per the standards adopted by the office of the governor, division of administration and the office of the information technology as provided for in LAC 4:X.701. Bid security shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders surplus as shown in the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide or by an insurance company in good standing licensed to write bid bonds which is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana residents, all in accordance with LSA--R.S. 38:2218. No Bid Bond indicating an obligation of less than five percent (5%) by any method is acceptable. The contractor is responsible for investigating and complying with electronic bid bond submission with and through the electronic bidding service. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract amount, which shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders surplus as shown in the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide or by an insurance company in good standing licensed to write bid bonds which is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana residents, all in accordance with LSA--R.S. 38:2219. The successful bidder shall be required to have 5% or 10% retainage withheld from all payments. DESCRIPTION A. Manholes shall consist of the construction of masonry or concrete manholes with the required steps, metal frames, and covers on sanitary sewer gravity lines. B. Drop inlets shall consist of the construction of pipe drop inlets on sanitary sewer manholes including pipe, fittings and the encasements for all gravity sewer pipe which exceeds two foot (2') of height above the manhole invert and as indicated on the Drawings. C. Cleanouts shall consist of constructing cleanouts at the ends of sanitary sewer lines including the pipe, fittings, frame and cover, and encasement, all as shown on the Drawings. D. These items include furnishing, transportation, excavation, dewatering, bracing, forming, placing, setting, finishing, backfilling, and surface clean up all in accordance with these Specifications, the Supplemental Conditions and/or the Plans. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Work shall consist of construction of sewage collection lines in reasonably close conformity to the lines and grades indicated on the Plans and/or as established by the Engineer. The work covered by this Section includes all of the labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to completely furnish, install, test, clean, and accepted by the Owner gravity sewer collection lines. Other miscellaneous appurtenances such as manholes, catch basins, etc., shall be covered in other Sections. Pressure sewage collection piping shall be specified in Section 02538, Sanitary Sewer Force Mains. Engineer's Opinion of Probable Cost $8,894,167.50
