As of April 26, 2023, an engineer has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Request for qualifications will be reviewed by the building and grounds committee on Thursday December 8th, 2022. Newell Board of Education will take action on the request for qualification on Monday December 12th, 2022 at 6:30 pm monthly meeting. Lower elementary bathroom remodel o Replace piping between boys and girls bathroom to make sure waste leaves the pipes in the area. Boys bathroom is room 3 and girls bathroom is room 4. Piping can be accessed through room 4. o Remote two-bathroom dividers in boys bathroom and replace with privacy stalls. Boys bathroom is room 3. o Create changing room from bathroom in the speech therapy room. Speech therapy room is room 18 and bathroom is room 17. * Remove wall in closet to enlarge room * Install changing table and storage shelf/closet. - Ag/science classroom remodel o Make outlets in room 14 compatible for woodshop machines o Dust collection unit and installation room 15. o Sound proof south wall between rooms 14 and 17. o Remove cinder block wall between rooms 14 and 16. o Replace ceiling between rooms 14 and 16. o Move floor cabinets in room 14 and install in rooms 23 and 24. o Install windows between rooms 23 and 24. o Install door between rooms 23 and 24. o Install 6 lab stations in room 24. o Update kitchen area in room 25. The Board of Education will pass upon the opened RFQs at the above address or other pre-designated place of meeting within thirty (30) days. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject all RFQs and to waive any and all informalities. The Work under this contract is subject to the provisions of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts. The successful contractor shall comply with the wage determination included in the project manual, including the submittal of weekly payroll records. Federal ESSER funding requirement are included in the project manual. The Newell School District #9-2 does not pay Federal Excise Tax, under section 6416 of the Internal Revenue code, applicable to the above items. This tax should not be included in the bid price. Envelopes containing RFQs must be sealed and marked in the upper left-hand corner with the name and address of the bidder, identification of the bid, and the date and hour of the opening. The Newell School District #9-2 Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and/or all RFQs. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
