Project will rebid but no definite date yet The City of Nogales (City) has been awarded a Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) grant for the Phase 1 Water Main Replacements Project, Bid #2022- WTR101 . The City will receive sealed bids from qualified contractors with a Class A, General Contracting license as required by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors for this project. Specialty contracting licenses will be allowable if it can be demonstrated that the specialty license applies to this project. The purpose of the project is to design and permit the replacement of deteriorated sections of potable distribution main and wastewater collection piping. The Design Report and Supplementary Drawings cover the design of the water projects. Specifications are included with this Invitation to Bid. The specific water main projects detailed in Chapter 2.0 of the Design Report involve replacement of sections of potable water mains to improve the overall condition and functionality of the distribution system; and in many cases, work involves relocating the mains out of private property. The sections of new distribution system will consist of new blue, pressure-rated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe. Nogales is located at the southern border of Arizona in Santa Cruz County. The population of Nogales is at 19,556 as estimated in 2022 by the U.S. Census encompassing a land area of approximately 20.83 square miles. The Phase 1 Water Main Replacements Project consists of six sections of pipe replacement: Western Ave Water Main, Project Number WIW-2022-12 Goodman Street Water Main, Project Number WIW-2022-04 Poston Street Water Main, Project Number WIW-2022-21 La Castellana Water Main, Project Number WIW-2022-10 Stephenson Street Water Main, Project Number WIW-2022-05 Baldwin Street Water Main, Project Number WIW-2022-14. New components, materials and equipment for the Phase 1 Project consist of 12,620 of 8 pressure Class 305 psi DR 14 (C900) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe, 30 of 4 pressure Class 305 psi DR 14, 38 - 8 gate valves, eleven 8 tapping sleeves with valves, 24 fire hydrant assemblies, 175 residential service connections, and six air relief valves (ARV). All work will take place in accordance with the design drawings, water system notes and City of Tucson standard specifications for waterline construction and will be located within the Nogales, Arizona and will part of the City s potable water distribution system. The contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, equipment, services, transportation and perform all the work for the City s project known as the Phase 1 Water Main Replacements Project for City of Nogales, Arizona as called for in the drawings/specifications.
