Renovation of a water / sewer project in Drayton Valley, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Town of Drayton Valley is seeking proposals from qualified Technology Vendors to provide the wastewater treatment technology for the Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) Upgrade project to meet or exceed treatment targets set by Alberta Environment that includes new seasonal treatment limits for ammonia-nitrogen and a limit for total phosphorus in addition to revised limits for CBOD, TSS, pH and total coliforms. It is believed that the current aerated lagoon wastewater treatment facility can still be used as the base treatment process and that an “additional treatment step” is required to augment the lagoons to achieve the ammonia-nitrogen and total phosphorus treatment limits primarily (i.e. nutrient removal) and possibly “top-up” treatment of CBOD and TSS especially in colder months of operation.
