The Town of Brighton is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide special inspections and testing for the Town of Brighton Barn addition project. The project is for the construction of an addition to the existing masonry barn located at 1435 Westfall Road for an assembly space that will serve as the Town of Brighton Winter Farmers Market. BACKGROUND The project includes the construction of a 3,742 square foot addition to the existing masonry barn for an assembly space that will serve as the Town of Brighton Winter Farmers Market. The addition consists of a connector which serves as the main entrance and links the old barn to a new market shed structure. Construction of the connector and market shed structures include the installation of the following components: Concrete foundation system; structural steel frame; SIP building envelope; daylight panel openings; storefront entrance systems; interior finish and trim work; exterior cladding and flashing; metal and membrane roofs; and complete heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler and alarm systems. The construction contracts have been awarded to four prime contractors as the project was developed in accordance with Wick's Law and separate bids were prepared for the General Contract, Plumbing Contract, HVAC Contract and Electrical Contract. The Town of Brighton is the Project Coordinator for this project. Special inspections are anticipated to begin as early as February 2023 to coincide with the start of construction. Construction is anticipated to conclude in November 2023. The Town of Brighton is seeking a firm to provide materials testing and construction special inspection services in accordance with the requirements of specification Section 01 45 33 Special Inspections, attached as Appendix A to this RFP, of the contract documents and the requirements of the Building Code of New York State. Appendix B includes the complete Specifications for the Town of Brighton Barn Addition project for reference. A copy of the plan set is included as Appendix C. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
