Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Beasley, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
For Construction of Paving Facilities in Starbridge Section Eight, Fort Bend County, Texas Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a certified or cashiers check, acceptable to the Owner, in an amount not less than two percent (2%) of the total amount Bid, as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into the Contract and execute the Bonds on the forms provided and provide the required insurance certificates within seven (7) days after the date Contract Documents are received by the Contractor. If a certified or cashiers check is provided, the successful bidder shall deliver, at the bid opening address, the original certified or cashiers check within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt of the bid opening. By submitting a Bid, Bidder acknowledges and agrees that the Contract Documents may be accepted, executed, or agreed to using an Electronic Signature, as defined by and in accordance with Owner Electronic Signature Rules for Construction Contracts. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive all defects and irregularities in bidding or bidding process except time of submitting a Bid. The Successful Bidder, if any, will be the responsible Bidder which in the Board judgment will be most advantageous to the District and result in the best and most economical completion of the Project. The requirements of Subchapter J, Chapter 552, Government Code, may apply to this Bid and/or Contract and the Contractor agrees that the Contract can be terminated if the Contractor knowingly or intentionally fails to comply with a requirement of that subchapter. PAVING: (1) Paving will be staked with a lath and hub marking an offset line parallel to back of curb, which has the offset distance to back of curb and a cut/fill to the top of curb measured at the hub written on the lath. (2) Lathes will be at even 50-foot stations, horizontal PCs & PTs and vertical VPIs. Vertical curves will be staked at 10' intervals. (3) Single lane streets will be staked on one side only, boulevard streets and streets with width transitions will be staked on both sides. (4) Curb returns will be staked with a lath and hub stating the offset distance and cut/fill to top of curb measured at the hub. (5) Radius points (at curb returns) will be staked with a lath and guard stake, marked with the back of curb radius distance (6) All lathes for pavement will utilize white flagging b. LOT GRADE STAKING: (1) Lathes with cut or fill lines will be set at the elevation points shown on the Lot Grade sheet of the construction plans (2) Upon completion of final grade, but prior to contractor moving offsite, elevation grade checks shall be made to assure work conforms to the construction plans. (3) Discrepancies in constructed elevations to design elevations shall be presented to the contractor. (4) Stakes will be painted orange C. (1) Laths will be set at the end of each sleeve.
