The East Side Pump Station (ESPS) was constructed in 1966-67 along with the construction of Gardiner Dam and the impoundment of Lake Diefenbaker. The ESPS provides lift for the M1 Canal, which supplies water for irrigation, industrial, domestic, recreational, and conservation uses. The substation for the ESPS is undersized and due for replacement. This RFQ is one of a series of procurements to purchase long lead electrical equipment and materials for the new substation. In particular, this RFQ is for the purchase of Medium Voltage Cables, as outlined in the attached Specification. WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province's water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing 72 dams and related supply channels.
