The City of Loris would like to hire an engineering firm to design the replacement of the old galvanized and asbestos cement water lines in the Main and Walnut Street sections of downtown Loris. The City would also like the firm to complete a lead and copper inventory of the system. The City of Loris would like to hire an engineering firm to design the replacement of the old galvanized and asbestos cement water lines in the Main and Walnut Street sections of downtown Loris, as well as extending new services from the brand-new PVC water line to the existing individual residences and commercial customers. Activity #1 Replace Old Galvanized Water Lines and Asbestos Cement Water Lines This project will include replacing galvanized and asbestos cement water lines in the Main and Walnut Street sections of downtown Loris with water lines designed to meet all current SCDHEC regulations. Activity #2 New Water Services The project will include transferring individual residents and commercial customers from the old lines to an adjacent existing PVC water line. Then, extending new services from the brand-new PVC water line to the existing meter boxes. Activity #3 Abandon Existing Water Main Once new water lines installed and operable, the existing asbestos cement And galvanized water lines to be abandoned. Activity #4 Lead and Copper Inventory City of Loris would also like the firm to complete the Lead and Copper Inventory which is a requirement of the EPA. The City of Loris reserves the right to select based on proposals, to schedule interviews with shortlisted responders or to reject any or all bids. The firm agrees to comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies governing the funds provided under this contract.
