Sealed bids are requested by St. Charles Parish School Board from general contractors for construction of:Satellite Center Roof Replacement All other questionsregarding the scope of work of the projectshould be directed to the Project Architect in writing via email only: meyer@meyer-e-l.com. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security at least equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid and all additive alternates in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Contract, if awarded, will be on the basis of the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, if within the budget. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after bid opening except as provided by law. St. Charles Parish School Board reserves the right to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner and to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities as allowed by law The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Install new standing seam metal roof on top of the existing standing metal roof. Existing metal roof will remain. Upper and lower rotunda roofs are included in the scope. The existing roof assembly will remain and new insulation will be installed over the existing roof . Due to the additional thickness of insulation, curbs and other penetrations shall be raised to provide a minimum of 8' high above the new roof. The new roof assembly shall be standing seam metal roof and flashing system. The work will be scheduled during the 2023 summer break when school is not in session to avoid contact with teachers' students and the general public as much as possible.
