Renovation of a municipal facility in Kotzebue, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 6,166-square-foot municipal facility.
The Northwest Arctic Borough is requesting proposals for the award of a contract to replace the boiler systems at the Northwest Arctic Borough offices, located at 163 Lagoon Street, Kotzebue, AK 99752. This Request for Proposals (RFP) details the overall scope of services desired, identifies specific qualifications, and desired skills. Responses to this RFP will be used to select and negotiate with a qualified contractor to provide the services described in this RFP. The Borough may issue separate RFPs for additional repair and installation work. The Borough Assembly will approve the award of this contract based on the evaluation criteria identified in Section III of this RFP. This RFP does not commit the Borough to enter into a contract, nor does it obligate the Borough to pay for any costs incurred in the preparation and submission of responses to this RFP. The Borough reserves the right at its sole discretion: to make selections, to reject any or all submissions, to issue subsequent RFPs, to remedy technical errors in the RFP process, and to enter into a contract for all or some of the services described in this RFP. The Northwest Arctic Borough is seeking a contractor to, design, procure and install two (2) new boilers, consisting of one (1) primary and (1) backup boiler, and replacement of the glycol lines at the Northwest Artic Borough offices at 163 Lagoon Street, Kotzebue, AK 99752. The current configuration consists of: o One (1) Burnham V07 Series oil-fired boiler providing baseboard heat to the main office o One (1) Toyo HC-20 hydronic unit in the reception office o One (1) Modine HS 165S01 hydronic unit in the garage The office building is 6,166 total square feet. The first story consists of twelve (12) Offices, Assembly Chambers, Lobby, two (2) hallways, Breakroom, two (2) Restrooms, and a two-(2) car garage. The second story consists of five (5) Offices, one (1) Walk-in closet, one (1) Hallway, and (1) Restroom. Contractor is responsible for removal of the existing boiler, but the Northwest Arctic Borough will dispose of the unit. Contractor is responsible for providing all equipment and labor in addition to lodging, logistics, and airfare related to the work. Work will be performed on a reimbursement of equipment and labor basis with a maximum price not to exceed dollar amount designated by the Contractor.
