Official Response to Questions Posted on the ESBD January 18, 2023 The Texas Historical Commission (THC) issues this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to solicit bids from qualified plumbers to replace the collapsed sewer line at San Jacinto Monument. Work must minimally include: • Excavate in grass from lower terrace wall, back away approximately 24 feet exposing sewer line and install shoring boxes. • On lower terrace at noted location sawcut, breakout, haul off, and properly dispose of concrete. • Excavated to the sewer line approximately 10 foot in depth. • Install shoring boxes for safety prevention. • After excavation is complete the repair of the damaged sewer line shall be with open excavation. • All materials for this repair shall be with sch 40 pvc with solvent weld fitting and sanitary sweep. • New two-way directional cleanout shall be installed for any future maintenance as per code. • All transients from existing piping to the new sch 40 piping shall be with full circumference wrap around stainless-steel clamps. • The piping on the lower terrace shall be backfilled with stabilized sand to the spring of piping, one foot above the new piping shall be with sand, select fill shall be used to within 12 inches of grade and balance shall be with stabilized sand. • The concrete shall be replaced with approximately 6 inch thick, with 3/8 rebar 12-inch center and tied all cross sections. • The new concrete standard shall try to match the existing with rock size and color. • The piping below the lower terrace shall be backfilled with sand, balanced with select fill and existing materials. Approximately 8 inches of topsoil and sod will be replaced, and all spoils shall be hauled off and properly disposed of. • During the duration of the project the work area shall be protected with metal construction fencing. • Closing of the that area will be required Bid must include all equipment and labor necessary to complete the project as described.
