Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mauldin, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The City of Mauldin, SC, is soliciting a Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified contractors/firms to provide labor, material, and equipment to remove the existing asphalt parking lot, grade, prepare the area to receive new asphalt, and repave the parking lot with new asphalt. Questions may be submitted to Matthew Fleahman via e-mail to mfleahman@MauldinCitySC.com by 3:00 PM on November 30. All questions will be responded to by 3:00 PM on December 2. Only answers issued by addenda will be binding. All addendums will be posted on the City of Mauldin website The intent of this RFP is to enable the City to acquire the most appropriate, financially attractive solution from a qualified contractor/firm. The City intends to repave approximately 70,000 square feet of parking lot as illustrated inside the red-dashed area on Attachment A. Contractor/Firm will provide labor, material, and equipment to remove the existing parking lot, prepare the subgrade for new asphalt, and repave the parking lot area. All work shall be done to industry standards and comply with all City of Mauldin, State, and Federal Codes. 1. Demolition Any material removed and any other waste material shall be disposed of properly off-site. 2. Specifications The Contractor is responsible to verify all measurements. Parking lot area to be resurfaced is approximately 70,000 square feet. 3. Asphalt Surfacing a. Saw cut where needed and remove all existing asphalt surfacing. b. Remove any loose debris and grade c. Install, at a minimum, 4-inches of asphalt. Any overlay next to concrete curbing or other asphalt shall be edge milled. 4. Subgrade Installation Ifsubgrade base installation isrequired,subgrade base shall be compacted to 95% of maximum density. Contractor shall include unit prices for subgrade installation in addition to the overall proposal. 5. Sequencing of Operations The Contractor is to schedule and limit operations in such a manner as to cause minimal disruption to the operations at the facility
