Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Lawndale, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

Improvements to the Los Angeles Sheriff Department Service Center include the construction of a concrete patio for drainage on the northeast perimeter of building, installation of a brick wall to seal gap between fence and gate and enclose the facility parking area, and the painting of the exterior of the facility. Alternative bid items include installation of a pedestrian security gate with an intercom system to allow department to monitor the public access, the installation of a sliding automated gate on a recessed track and required motor, and the installation of two (2) sliding automated gate on a recessed track with required motor at the Lawndale Public Works Department, and as described in bid schedule for the following locations. The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required in the Specifications and Contract documents for said project. The scope of work consists of the above mentioned improvements at 15331 Prairie Avenue, Lawndale, CA 90260 (Los Angeles Sheriff Department Service Center) & 4722 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Lawndale, CA 90260 (Lawndale Public Works), and other related work as described in the Specifications and Contract Documents, by reference, made a part hereof. COMPLETION OF WORK: All work to be done under this contract shall be completed within Sixty (60) consecutive calendar days, exclusive of maintenance periods, beginning on the date stipulated in the written "Notice to Proceed" to be issued by the Engineer. BID QUESTIONS: For the benefit of all proposed bidders, all bid questions shall be submitted by email to Nabi Sidiqi, Assistant Engineer, at nsidiqi@lawndalecity.org. The questions shall be submitted in writing no later than Monday, January 23rd, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. for response in advance of bid date. BID GUARANTY: Each bid shall be accompanied by cash, or a cashier's or certified check, or by a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount named in the bid. Said check or bond shall be made payable to the City of Lawndale and shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the work, will enter into a contract within fifteen (15) days after written notice of the award and will furnish the necessary bonds as hereinafter provided. In case of refusal or failure to enter into said contract, the check or bond, as the case may be, shall be forfeited to the City. No bidder's bond will be accepted unless it conforms substantially to the form furnished by the City, which is bound herein, and is properly filled out and executed. The City of Lawndale reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding, should it deem this necessary for the public good, and also the bid of the bidder who has been delinquent or unfaithful in any former contract with the City of Lawndale. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date from the opening thereof.
