The Weatherization Assistance Program at Community Action of Southern Indiana (CASI) is seeking contractors to provide HVAC services and/or air sealing and insulation services to residential properties in Clark, Floyd, and/or Harrison counties in Southern Indiana. CASI encourages Minority and Womens Business Enterprises as well as Labor Surplus Area Firms to apply. In compliance with state and federal laws, Community Action of Southern Indiana will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex, veterans status, sexual orientation, marital status or disability or other legally protected status. The Weatherization program has two major funding sources, the US Department of Energy and the US Department of Health and Human Services (through the LIHEAP program). Additionally, in early 2023 we will be receiving more funding as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). Although we don't know the exact amount of the additional BIL funding yet, based off the other two funding sources and the expected amount of BIL funding, we should be Weatherizing 50 to 60 homes each year over the next 5 years. Each home should have an average cost of about $10,000 that will go the contractors.
