LATEST TIME/DATE FOR SUBMITTING PRE-BID QUESTIONS January 23, 2023 10:00 AM The furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals necessary for classroom renovation Work at Buildings: 3 as designated on the contract drawings at Royal High School located at 1402 Royal Avenue, Simi Valley, California as set forth in the Construction Documents which include, but are not limited to, the Drawings, Addenda and Specifications. Demolition & Associated Remodel Work: Contractor shall demolish, remove & dispose of existing tackboards/whiteboards, wire raceways, map rails and any other removable objects hindering installation of new items. Per District representative's discretion, white boards in good condition shall be removed by Contractor and turned over to the District for re-use at other schools. Areas at the existing VCT flooring with rust stains and where casework has been removed require removal and patch-back with new matching VCT flooring. Carpeting and VCT requires complete removal and replacement at Building 3, Choir, Choir Office and Storage Rooms and Drama Room. Cabinetry and Casework Removals: Cabinets and casework shown on the drawings to be removed will require patch back of flooring with new matching VCT flooring where required. Electrical and Low Voltage: Re-connect and extend electrical power wiring, conduits, cables and circuitry to the limits shown on the drawings. Install, connect to the existing circuitry, and make fully functional, new surface-mounted j-boxes with new convenience outlets at the locations shown on the drawings. New Category 6 Cabling from Classrooms and Offices to IDF Cabinet in New MPR Electric Room. Minimum 6 runs per Classroom and 2 per Office. Protection of Interactive (Smart) Boards: All existing smart boards and equipment shall remain as-is and shall be protected by Contractor. Contractor shall be responsible for any damages to smart boards. Lenses on the smart boards are susceptible to damage (dust and paint particles), and must be protected by Contractor. Any existing cables/wires/outlets which are in the way of new construction shall be properly relocated and reconnected to the smart boards by Contractor to allow for installation of new tack boards and white boards. Painting: Contractor to prepare, furnish and apply one (1) coat primer and two (2) coats semi-gloss enamel paint of colors selected by the District to all exposed surfaces on walls. Classrooms to be painted before installation of any new products. Typical areas to be painted include all ceilings, walls, all doors, door/window frames (The exterior sides of exterior doors do not require painting). Contractor shall review and become familiar with the reports by AHERA which are included at the end of the Project Manual, which identify the presence of Lead-Based Paint on existing improvements, including the exterior doors / frames. Contractor shall mask-off and protect the exposed ductwork when painting the ceilings and walls in each room.
