All work shall conform to IDOT/FHWA policies and procedures for federal aid projects and will be completed under applicable BLR and BDE Manuals. The Marengo Road bridge (SN 056-3160) was constructed in 1995 as a 65-foot single span with PPC deck beams and concrete pile abutments. The sufficiency rating is 79.9 (2022), and the superstructure is rated 5 (fair) and substructure rated 8 (very good). The sufficiency ratings in 2018 and 2020 were 80.9 and 79.9, respectively. Guardrail is mounted to the outside beams. The bridge roadway width is 32 feet. The approach roadway width is 32 feet. A 12' longitudinal crack with a 3' spall and exposed strand was noted in the 5th beam during the 2020 inspection along with sizeable longitudinal cracks in the bituminous wearing surface at centerline and outer keyways causing leakage. The bridge is open with no restrictions.
