Pembroke Historical Society Friends Meeting House Stonewall repairs Any questions are due December 19th 2022 no later than 6pm via email to msrprescott@gmail.com The Stone Wall Repair scope is seen in 5 steps: 1. Exfoliate vines and poison ivy and clear all brush from stone wall along the roadway. The stone wall is approximately 350 feet and consists of the South East side (across from Irving Gas Station on Rte 139) and the West Side (across from the Benjamin Moore paint store on Rte 53) This should be performed before Spring and will require a month or two to make sure all the vines are dead 2. Remove existing stones and place them behind the existing line of the wall 3. Trench along the line of the stone wall several feet to clear the roots and fill with stonedust to create a firm foundation for the restored wall. This will also prevent the recurrence of foliage encroachment 4. Place the original stones back along the original line of the wall 5. Replace missing stones with stones of similar size and character The Friends Meeting House trustees anticipate that Exfoliation be completed prior to spring. To spray and exfoliate. Then in the Spring to return to remove any growth that still exists and to complete the remaining 4 steps. A photo of what the Stone Wall looked like nearly 100 years ago is provided at the end of the document as a guideline for expectations.
