Renovation of a municipal facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
This Request for Supplier Qualifications ("RFSQ") is an invitation by the Government of Saskatchewan Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement (SBP) to prospective respondents to qualify in accordance with Evaluation of Responses (Part 2) for eligibility to provide tyndall stone restoration for the exterior facade for the Sturdy Stone facility as further described in the RFSQ Particulars (Appendix A) (the "Deliverables"). The Sturdy Stone facade requires selective tyndall stone repairs and/or replacement along with parkade live edge repairs and possible repointing, mock-up control joint repairs as per elevation example drawings by P3 Architecture Ltd. dated December 8, 2022. The Sturdy Stone building has future heritage designation value due to its unique mid-century modernist structure and ceramic artwork. There are several stones classified as critical repairs along with structural intervention and possible future repointing of the entire stone facade. These types of repairs require extensive expertise and knowledge to cut and repair large stones at high elevations. For these specific reasons SBP has committed to prequalifying masonry specialist contractors to execute repairs. Responses will be evaluated based on the information contained in the tender documents. The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement reserves the right to reject any or all responses received.
