The City of Burlington is seeking qualifications from design and engineering consultants capable of developing a conceptual framework and preliminary civil engineering utility design leading to the redevelopment of Maiben Park. The site covers an entire city block, is flat, and well drained and is located at 1011 Greenleaf Avenue in Burlington, WA. The Park currently houses the City’s Community and Senior Center, basketball and tennis courts, a small home repurposed into a public meeting space and a grove of old growth trees, none of which are slated for alteration. The City does wish to redevelop the remainder of the Park to possibly include the following: ? Installation of two covered and lighted Pickleball courts ? Demolition of one tennis court and rebuild (possibly in new location) ? Removal of the existing bathroom and replacement with two separately located units ? Installation of a Natural Playground or similar structure ? Removal and possible replacement of the water spray area The scope of services include the following: ? Formulation of up to three Park improvement conceptual layouts ? Preliminary civil design (utilities) to support improvement plans ? The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any irregularity or informality in a proposal, and to accept or reject any item or combination of items, when to do so would be to the advantage of the City. It is also within the right of the City to reject responses that do not contain all elements and information requested in this RFQ.
