Site work for a water / sewer project in Des Moines, Washington. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
A long I-5 drainage pipe conveys storm water from the vicinity of S 188th St to the Green River. The last 500 ft of drainage pipe and a flap gate at the Green River outfall are at the end of their useful life and failing. Repair and replace the failing pipe section and flap gate to restore the functionality of the pipe. As of December 15, 2022, this project is in Final Planning status. Preliminary engineering has begun and environmental design is expected to be complete in the Third quarter of 2022. The contract advertisement is expected in first quarter of 2023 and construction is anticipated to be operationally complete in the four quarter of 2023. WSDOT - I-5 / S 188th Street to Green River Outfall - Drainage Repair *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability. The project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
