The County of Wayne has executed a Grant Agreement with NC Emergency Management (NCEM) for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funding for the acquisition of approximately eighty-four (84) properties flooded by Hurricane Matthew in October 2016 (CFDA #97.039). The County has acquired twenty-one (21) properties and is receiving bids for the demolition (including any asbestos removal) of the structures and clearance of the properties. The County has received approximately $8.8 million in HMGP and State funds (representing 100% of total project cost) to be expended for the acquisition and demolition of eighty-four (84) properties. Contractor may separate and salvage materials removed from houses and outbuildings. However, no houses, structures or buildings (whether wood or metal) shall be moved or relocated to other locations. All structures shall be separated into salvaged materials or demolished on site. No additional time will be provided for separating and sorting materials to be salvaged. No Bid Deposit is required.
