Renovation of the Price Center West food court's exterior plaza. Originally built in 1989, Price Center West is located within University Centers at UC San Diego and serves as a central hub for campus dining and services. With a growing student population and aging facilities, Student Affairs University Center has identified a need to revitalize the Price Center West exterior plaza. Renovation is anticipated to include approximately 21,500 SF of exterior plaza area. The construction phase will take place over the summer, commencing directly after the conclusion of Spring '23 academic quarter with completion by mid October 2023. Jamba Juice will close for the summer and the Book Store & Amazon will utilize a 2nd door on opposite side of building as a means of access and egress. This will allow work hours on this project to start at 7am through mid-September. However, once school resumes mid-September, all vendors will be operational again and construction hours will be limited from 11pm - 7 am until project completion. The estimated project construction duration is 123 calendar days. To prequalify, subcontractors will need to demonstrate experience completing projects on occupied campuses with logistically challenging sites, limited onsite staging areas and expedited and/or fast-track project sequence. Subcontractors wishing to prequalify, review scope to determine project intent, obtain plans, and obtain a Prequalification Questionnaire, can do such by emailing Meagan Macias(mmacias@swinerton.com) or Robert Stanley (robert.stanley@swinerton.com) for a link to the online plan room. The prequalification requires an accurate completion and submission of a Prequalification Questionnaire by all interested subcontractors. Questionnaires will be evaluated by Swinerton Builders and UC San Diego & will establish the subcontractor's prequalification status to submit a lump sum bid for the project. Subcontractors must verify that they are already prequalified with Swinerton Builders or become prequalified with Swinerton Builders in order to be awarded a contract. Information on how to verify or become prequalified can be found in the Prequalification Questionnaire. A separate Prequalification Questionnaire must be filled out for each bid package that a Subcontractor is seeking to be prequalified for. Example: If a Subcontractor is seeking to prequalify for bid packages 09.61 and 32.90, two Questionnaires must be received, one for package 09.61 and the second for 32.90. Prequalification Questionnaires are due, Swinerton Builders will not accept completed Prequalification Questionnaires via fax or email. Prequalification Questionnaires submitted must be received in portal No Prequalification Questionnaires will be accepted after the due date and time stated above. However, UC San Diego & Swinerton Builders reserve the right to request, to receive, and to evaluate supplemental information after the above time and date at their sole discretion. Those subcontractors who have submitted the Prequalification Questionnaire will be notified in writing whether or not they are prequalified and will be eligible to participate in providing a lump sum bid for the project. UC San Diego & Swinerton Builders encourage the participation of Small, Disadvantaged, Minorityowned, Women-owned and Service/Disabled Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (S/D/M/W/DVBE's) and is committed to promote a diverse pool of firms for our building programs. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.
