This Sources Sought Notice will be utilized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District to establish a list of sources interested in the Marquette Breakwater Repairs project. Interested sources are encouraged to respond. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement if a requirement materializes. Based on the responses to this sources sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses (in full or in part) or procured through full and open competition. All small business set-aside categories will be considered. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding submissions. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Invitation for Bid (IFB) and is for market research purposes only. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project site is located in Marquette MI, and the Marquette Harbor breakwater is approximately 4,500 feet long. The purpose of this project is to make repairs to an existing breakwater that is settling, likely due to timber crib settlement. The breakwater construction is concrete, timber crib, and rubble mound construction. The inner 2,900 feet consists of a concrete superstructure placed on rock filled timber cribs. The next 100 feet consists of rock filled timber cribs covered by a rubble mound. The remaining 1,500 feet of the breakwater is rubble mound construction. The concrete superstructure contains a gallery throughout its entire length. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, which has a small business size standard of $39.5 million. The Product Service Code (PSC) for this requirement is Y1KF, Construction of Dredging Facilities.
