The City of West Hollywood, as the AGENCY, is inviting qualified consulting firms to submit proposals to provide on-call professional traffic engineering services. The contract shall be for a period of approximately 2 1/2 years, officially ending on June 30, 2025. The City of West Hollywood is inviting qualified firms to submit proposals to provide on-call professional traffic engineering services. Typical services involve designing and preparing construction plans, specifications, and estimates for capital improvement projects, such as signing & striping plans, traffic signal modification plans, etc. Other typical services involve researching and investigating infrastructure and utilities, preparing studies and reports related to traffic engineering, such as traffic signal phasing, pedestrian intervals, traffic demand analysis, etc, and investigating/inspecting maintenance reports of systems. The City currently has already identified two projects that would be considered for this on-call contract: Task 1 would be to prepare design plans, specifications, and estimates for in-roadway warning light (IRWL) installations at the following locations (possibly more): Fairfax Avenue at Romaine Street, San Vicente Boulevard at Harratt Street, Sunset Boulevard at Cory Avenue, Sunset Boulevard at Wetherly Drive, Sunset Boulevard at Queens Road, Holloway Drive at Hancock Avenue, Holloway Drive at Westmount Drive, and Holloway Drive at Palm Avenue. Task 2 would be to evaluate the traffic signal system at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard for the possibility of implementing an all-way pedestrian phase during the weekend evening hours when the pedestrian crossing activity is heavy. This type of operation is currently in use at the Santa Monica Boulevard/Robertson Boulevard intersection. Additional traffic engineering assignments would be initiated as outlined above as they arise The award of contract, if made, will be in accordance with the evaluation criteria provided in the Request for Proposals document. The City of West Hollywood reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposals should it deem this necessary for the public good, and also the proposal of any consultant that has been delinquent or unfaithful in any former contract with the City of West Hollywood, and to take all proposals under advisement for a period of ninety (90) days. No proposer may withdraw its proposal for a period of ninety (90) days after the deadline for submission of proposals. The City may at its discretion select more than one contractor to provide services, if it is in the best interest of the City.
