Reconstruction of approximately 6000 LF of residential roads. Improvements to include: New concrete curb and gutter. New concrete driveway aprons. New ADA compliant concrete ramps. New concrete sidewalk where necessary for grade change in curbing. Restoration of utility strip area between curbing and sidewalk. Reconstruction of existing asphalt roadway pavement. Bid 1 of 2 options. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Contract term: 180 Calendar Days Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Town of Hempstead for not less than 5% of the estimated amount of the bid. The Town of Hempstead reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Federal equal opportunity and labor standards are applicable for all work performed under this Contract. In accordance with Town policy, if the amount bid exceeds $250,000.00, the bidder on this project must have an Apprenticeship Program(s) in effect pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Code of the Town of Hempstead, appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed, approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor. For example, Storm Water Drainage and Road Improvement projects would require an Apprenticeship Agreement in place at the time of bid for Operating Engineers, Road and Heavy Construction Laborers, and Cement Masons, where concrete work is required. Failure to have said Apprenticeship Program(s) in place at bid submittal will result in the bidder being deemed non-responsive.
