The 2023 Road Maintenance Project will consist of approx. 1.9 miles of some level up and a 2-course seal coat. The first course: Type B Grade 3 applied at 1 C.Y / 85 S.Y. AC-10 applied at 0.45 Gal/S.Y. Second course: Type PB Grade 4, applied at 1 C.Y. / 110 S.Y. AC-10 applied at 0.30 Gal/S.Y. The city is looking at an average level up of 2" in depth by 20'-24' in width for each roadway. A Cashiers check, or Certified Check, payable without recourse to the order of the City of Thorndale, or a bid bond with corporate surety authorized to conduct business in Texas, in an amount not less than five percent guarantee that, if awarded the Contract, the bidder will promptly enter into a Contract and execute Bond in the forms provided as outlined in the Specifications and instructions to Bidders. The following bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent of the Contract price, will be required in accordance with State law as follows: (1) a payment bond for any contract in excess of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00); (2) a performance bond for any contract in excess of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00). Attention is called to the fact that this is a Contract for construction of public works and that there must be paid on same not less than the general prevailing wage rates which have been established by the City of Thorndale, Texas, pursuant to Chapter 2258 of the Texas Government Code, as amended and which are set out in detail in the Contract Documents. Contractor questions will be taken until Friday, January 13, 2023, at 5:00 pm. The last Addendum will be issued on Monday, January 16, 2023, by 10:00 am.
