Cumberland School Department Request for Proposal #C2022-005 Community Elementary School Construction Manager at Risk Notice is hereby given that the Cumberland School Department, Cumberland, RI will receive proposals for a Construction Manager at Risk for the Phase II scope of work at the Community Elementary School. All questions regarding this RFP should be made to Megan Havrilla at megan.havrilla@collierseng.com The intent of Cumberland School Department's ('CSD') five-year Capital Improvement Plan is to upgrade all 8 facilities district-wide with necessary Health and Safety improvements as well as important development of STEAM and Group Based Educational programs and their required physical spaces. Due to the poor condition of many of the facilities, renovations are required not only to remove hazardous materials and upgrade outlived finishes and fixtures throughout, and replace the outdated PA systemsin each school, but to make necessary improvementsto HVAC, electrical and Fire Alarm system as well as improve security at each facility and ensure ADA accessibility to all programs. Although containing outlived systems, all ofthe existing facilities are structurally sound and appropriately located, so a renovation is preferred to replacement as it's both more convenient and cost effective. Due to the extensive scope of work, scheduling constraints and capacity limitations, it was determined early on in the planning that the scope of work identified for Community Elementary School would need to be completed in Two separate phases. The first phase is currently underway and consists of building a new one-story 9,500sf addition with a substantial completion date of June 30, 2023. The second phase of construction and the purpose for this RFP, will encompass extensive renovations to the interior of the existing building. The work for the second phase will be performed during the Summer of 2023 and the Summer of 2024; no work will be done during the school year
