This Sources Sought Notice will be utilized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District to establish a list of sources interested in the Soo Sanitary Rehabilitation project. Interested sources are encouraged to respond. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement if a requirement materializes. Based on the responses to this sources sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses (in full or in part) or procured through full and open competition. All small business set-aside categories will be considered. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project site is located at Sault Ste. Marie, Chippewa, Michigan. The working knowledge involves: Sanitary sewer force main piping, electrical distribution and controls, and horizontal directional drilling. The purpose of this project includes construction of grinder pump stations, construction of open-cut force mains, construction of force mains in galleries, tunnel and shafts, construction of open-cut service laterals, construction of electrical power and control systems, demolition of existing septic systems, and replacement of existing plumbing fixtures in the buildings at the Soo Lock Facility, and incidental related work. Replacement of the pump station in Canal Park may be included as an option. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237110 - Water and Sewer Line and Related Structures Construction, which has a small business size standard of $39.5 million. The Product Service Code (PSC) for this requirement is Y1NZ, Construction of Other Utilities.
