Site work and paving for a road / highway in Fridley, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
A multi modal improvement is being planned at the former CITGO site at 6101 University Avenue. Re-use of the site will consider the anticipated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stop and will create opportunities for mulit-modal connections and other park/plaza like features. The plan is to add concrete paths, an asphalt trail, benches and landscaping throughout. This property was acquired through tax forfeiture. Funding for this plan in unknown at this time. The purpose of the City acquiring the property was to create a multimodal node within the University Avenue corridor that creates a functional, safe and inviting environment around the proposed BRT stop This project is included in the city's 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of December 20, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
