Houston Public Works is requesting bids for providing 23 tons of Ennis-Flint (884892) thermoplastic pavement marking spray compound (yellow). All prospective bidders are encouraged to contact the buyer, Joyce Baker at joyce.baker@houstontx.gov for any questions regarding this solicitation. Vendor shall provide 23 tons of Ennis-Flint (884892) thermoplastic pavement marking spray compound (yellow) or City approved equal in accordance with the specifications listed below. Delivery is FOB destination. Unit price must include all freight, shipping/handling charges in the bid price. A purchase order will be awarded based on the best value to the City; both price and deliver lead time will be considered when awarding this bid. Please provide lead time with all bids submitted. Questions From Bidders Due to Coh 12/20/2022 5:00 Pm Cst Notification of Award (Estimated) 12/30/2022 1.1 Ennis-Flint 884892 (yellow) or City approved equal. 1.1.1 If bidding an equal, please provide the manufacturer's name, part# and spec sheet(s). 1.2 Color: Yellow 83 or medium-chrome yellow. 1.3 Odorless 1.4 Free flowing granular material. Must be heavy-metal free. 1.5 Must not give off toxic fumes at temperatures up to and including 445 F 1.6 Material must not soften at 194 F when tested 1.7 The white pigment must be a rutile titanium dioxide meeting the standards of ASTM D 476, Type V. 1.8 The filler pigment must be calcium carbonate of 95% purity. 1.9 Markings must be able to be applied in temperatures as low as 32 F 1.10 Material must contain a minimum of 30% intermixed graded glass beads by weight. 1.11 Markings must produce material that is readily sprayable through nozzles used on thermoplastic spray equipment between 400 F and 425 F 1.12 Spray material produced must be unaffected by contact with sodium chloride, calcium chloride or similar chemicals on roadway surface. 1.13 Material must be delivered in 50-pound bags. 1.14 Bags must be delivered on pallets. 1.15 Material must be supplied at a minimum thickness of 125mils (3.15mm). 2.1 Delivery and pricing are FOB destination. 2.2 All shipping, handling and/or freight charges must be included in bid pricing 2.3 Delivery address: 2200 Patterson, Houston, TX 77007 2.4 Deliveries are accepted Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 1:00 pm (except City approved holidays), local time. 2.5 All delivered pallets must be brought to the back of the delivery truck for offloading.
